Customer satisfaction survey privacy notice

Introduction

ATE is conducting a survey to assess customer satisfaction, focusing on local authorities, transport bodies, and other key stakeholders. The objective of the survey is to gather insights from service users. Survey findings will be used by ATE to help ensure that services are best tailored to the needs of service users.

You have received a survey invitation as a subscriber to ATE’s newsletter. Ipsos UK have been commissioned to undertake the survey on behalf of ATE. 

Our lawful basis for collecting your data 

Under data protection law, the lawful basis for processing your data is:

Article 6(1)(e) – public task 

Processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.

Data sharing 

Organisations who process personal data on our behalf:

  • Ipsos UK had been contracted by ATE to conduct the survey. 
  • Ipsos UK are a specialist research agency. ATE has provided Ipsos UK with your contact details to allow them to invite you to take part in the survey. This may include your name and contact email address. 

Under the UK GDPR, ATE are the data controller for this piece of research. Ipsos UK are the data processor, collecting the data on behalf of ATE.  Ipsos UK will prepare a report for ATE based on the feedback received from the survey.

Your personal data

Any limited personal data used and collected for this research will be stored and processed in the United Kingdom and the European Union.

How long we retain the data

  • For this project, Ipsos UK will securely remove your personal data from their systems by 31 October 2026. This is expected to be after the close of survey fieldwork, and when Ipsos’s independent report of feedback received will have been signed off by ATE.
  • The report will only include anonymised and aggregated survey data – no individual will be identified in the Ipsos report.
