Spotlight on expanding the greenway network in Buckinghamshire

About this webinar

Join Rebecca Dengler-Jones, Jonathan Fuller and Benjamin Feeney-North from Buckinghamshire Council as they provide an overview of Buckinghamshire’s Greenway vision and how it’s being developed and delivered with the involvement of local communities.

Buckinghamshire is a predominantly rural authority, with expansive flat countryside mixed with the hilly Chilterns AONB. With an abundance of villages and dispersed settlements, Buckinghamshire Council has a vision to deliver a network of Greenways (off-road rural active travel routes) to help link its communities to employment, education and key transport links and leisure and tourism opportunities.

Find out how the authority is starting to develop a more sustainable approach to Greenways ensuring local involvement and ownership and delivering initiatives using funding secured through the Active Travel England Capability Fund. They will discuss how through a blend of educating, influencing and activating, the Greenway vision is starting to become a reality, with sections of the Buckinghamshire Greenway spine already partly delivered which will eventually span the length of the county.
