Barriers to access

About this webinar

Do you want to find out how you can improve safety and accessibility in your local areas? Join Michael Barratt MBE, Construction Advisory & Innovations Manager with Transport for London to find out how you can make a difference and create more attractive and safer routes.

20% of the population have a registered long-term illness or disability and 80% of those are invisible disabilities. Footway closures and traffic management often inadvertently cause a barrier to access for many in our communities.

Michael will discuss what this looks like and offer approaches to mitigate the issue. He will give advice on how to best design footway closures to minimise their impact and highlight innovative ways to reduce disruption allowing cyclists and pedestrians to continue their journeys with minimal impact.
