22 September 2026 - Event day one
9am to 10am
Doors open for Making Active Places 2026. Meet with delegates and exhibitors as we look forward to two days of training workshops and lectures.
10am to 12.30pm
Join Active Travel England at the opening of Making Active Places 2026. Gain practical insights at one of multiple outcome-led workshops and seminars.
12.15pm to 1.30pm
Network with delegates over lunch.
Lunch will be provided for all delegates. The lunch menu will be shared in due course.
1.15pm to 4pm
Attend workshops and seminars spotlighting integrated transport schemes and neighbourhood regeneration.
Some activities will take place outdoors.
4.15pm to 4.45pm
Close day one of Making Active Places 2026 with inspirational speeches and reflections from leading influencers in the placemaking and active travel sector.
5pm until late
Enjoy events across Greater Manchester.
23 September 2026 – Event day two
7.30am to 10am
Start the day right with optional workshops, tours and networking opportunities in locations around Manchester’s historic city centre.
10am to 12.30pm
Hear from international and regional experts as they discuss the wide-ranging benefits of placemaking and active travel for communities in educational workshops and lectures.
12.15pm to 1.30pm
Network with delegates over lunch.
Lunch will be provided for all delegates. The lunch menu will be shared in due course.
1.15pm to 3pm
Attend workshops, study tours and seminars spotlighting integrated transport schemes, neighbourhood regeneration and flagship preventative health programmes.
To note: Some activities will take place outdoors.
3.30pm to 4.15pm
Join us as we reflect on two days of learning at Making Active Places 2026.
