Funded by an air pollution prevention grant, this cycle way scheme in Coventry has supported people of all ages to enjoy walking, wheeling and cycling around their local community.
Chris Boardman CBE, National Active Travel Commissioner, said:
Only by making it easy and attractive and safe for those of us who currently feel compelled to drive, often very short distances, are we going to feel able to make the switch to walking wheeling and cycling. As you can see, it's both kids and grown-ups enjoying it. We want to do this across England, making this available so everybody can have safe, cheap, clean transport.
In May 2023, Chris Boardman CBE and Jesse Norman MP enjoyed a day meeting local residents at Binley cycleway, which is now being used by 12,000 people per month to travel to school, commute to work and for leisure.
