Lessons learnt from Bikeability Level 1
A student who has taken part in the Level 1 Bikeability training reads the following poem:
This bike is my pride, I enjoy understanding how it works. I like looking after it, fixing it.
My bike is my knowledge, knowing how each part is important in its own way.
My bike is preparation, knowing what I need and where I'm going.
My bike is control, my machine and me, working and moving together, as one.
My bike is friendship, sharing good times and having fun with the people I like.
My bike is respect, looking out for others, sharing the paths we all use.
My bike is confidence, it gives me courage and makes me feel like I can do anything.
My bike is wonder, it takes me to brand new places that I see in a brand new way.
My bike is freedom.
My bike is fun.
This is my bike.
