Biography
Karen Agbabiaka is a chief officer for a local authority, responsible for strategic management and transformation of the highway and transport department.
Karen has over 30 years of experience gained in local government and the private sector in the UK and internationally, particularly in the areas of highways, transportation, energy and environment industries and is renowned for her technical knowledge, strategic direction and implementation of government initiatives.
Karen manages complex issues in pressurised environments that are constantly in the public eye.
In her spare time, Karen relishes in mentoring professional engineers and transport planners and feels great satisfaction in seeing the career growth of those that she has mentored and their continuous strive to be the best.
Karen is a non-executive board member for Active Travel England. Non-executive board members provide Active Travel England with strategic advice, support and challenge. They work with the management team and attend Active Travel England board meetings.
