Biography
Chris Stewart is Director of Data and Analysis at Active Travel England. He joined the agency in March 2023.
Chris has worked for the past 15 years in various senior positions in government and the private sector. He is a leading expert on active travel appraisal and evaluation, and has spent the past five years developing innovative approaches for walking, wheeling and cycling investment across the UK. Chris has also led on the development of active mode guidance for the Department for Transport.
Chris now leads Active Travel England’s data and analysis team, giving the organisation access to high quality evidence to ensure that investment in active travel is spent effectively.
